Driven by a passion for community and a desire to give back, I'm your South Yarra Ward Councillor.
As your independent Councillor since 2020, I've been focused on delivering results that matter: climate action, protecting our heritage, investing in our community, and ensuring affordability. I'm also a strong advocate for local businesses and against inappropriate development.
My experience as Mayor, Strategy Director, and my background in architecture and business (including MBA and AICD qualifications) gives me the skills to get things done.
And as a parent raising my young family here, I'm deeply invested in our community's future.

My Priorities
With the State Government targeting an additional 4,014 dwellings in Stonnington every year for the next 28 years (an 83% increase), prioritising good design is crucial. We must ensure that any growth respects heritage and creates a sustainable, high-quality future for South Yarra.
Let's build a community together where everyone feels safe, connected, and heard.
We all benefit from a vibrant local economy and a council focused on delivering maximum value for money to residents and businesses.

South Yarra is Amazing
South Yarra pulsates with a vibrant energy. We're a community that champions inclusivity – remember our resounding "YES" for marriage equality and The Voice? We celebrate our diverse cultural tapestry, embrace sustainability, and know how to savour the good life, with world-class shops, restaurants, and cafes right at our doorstep. There's a reason South Yarra is so special, and it's something we're incredibly proud of.

But our vibrant community deserves a council that's equally dedicated to its future. We face pressing issues that demand ongoing focus and action:

The transformation of Chapel Street Its time for Chapel Street to get some love! The council is currently compiling data to inform what will be some significant decisions on the future aspirations of the street. These recommendations will be tabled to the new council in 2025.
-
The Evolution of the Prahran Market: The market needs to evolve to address foot traffic and spend decline over the decades, but it needs to be done in a way that respects and builds on the passion and love locals have for it. A thriving market is great for locals and it great for traders.
-
Preserving Our Heritage: The South Yarra Heritage Review requires careful consideration to balance preservation with progress. The last of the suburb-by-suburb reviews to be completed will come through the council in 2025.
-
A Greener Future: With the launch of the new Climate Action Plan in 2025, we need innovative solutions to reduce our environmental impact and create a more sustainable South Yarra.
-
More green spaces: As our population grows, so does the need for more open spaces and parks. We must prioritize green initiatives and find creative ways to enhance our public spaces. This means evolving current strategies and demanding contributions to our green open spaces by developers and State government (who are imposing population growth targets with no infrastructure planning or support).
-
Supporting Local Businesses: Our local businesses are the backbone of our community. We need to provide them with the support they need to thrive, especially during these challenging economic times. I want to continue to provide a voice to businesses within the council.
-
Responsible Governance and Financial Management: We need a council committed to fiscal responsibility, ensuring every dollar is spent wisely and delivers maximum value for our community. Several large infrastructure projects have negatively impacted the Council's budgets, so we need to refocus on getting the basics right in the short term while building a transparent plan for long-term infrastructure needs for the future.
-
Safety: Feeling safe is a primary human need and a base requirement of thriving neighbourhoods. Yet many residents, workers, and women do not feel safe in parts of South Yarra. While the council is not the Police, we can work proactively with key partners and the community to increase safety perception for the community and visitors - at all times of the day and night.
-
Punt Road Overlay: State Government overlay on Punt Road needs to be resolved to give owners certainty and help achieve the growth imposed upon the area.
