Fostering a community where everyone thrives.
Let's build a community together where everyone feels safe, connected, and truly heard.
As a parent of young kids and former Brookville Kindergarten President, I understand the importance of community, inclusion, and future-focused decisions.
Your Camera, Our Community: A Simple Way to Assist Local Police
My name is Alexa Young
Safety is a top priority for all of us in South Yarra. Recently, a resident asked me how we can better support our local police investigations, and there is a very practical way we can help using technology many of us already have.
The Stonnington Police Service Area is currently building a map of where private CCTV cameras exist in our neighbourhood. By registering your home or business camera, you create a "pin on the map" for them.
It is important to know: Registering does not give the police access to your live feed or your hard drive. Your privacy remains intact.
It simply means that if an incident occurs on your street, officers can instantly see that you might have footage and contact you directly. This saves valuable time door-knocking during investigations and helps police act faster to keep our community safe.
If you have a camera and are happy to let the police know it exists, please download the form below.
